Welcome to Savanna’s!
Joseph Beansworth spent his college years grinding through mechanical engineering courses while spending late nights drinking instant coffee from the cafeteria. While he needed the caffeine boost, he hated the taste and knew there had to be something better. After spending his last $9 on a bag of fresh-ground local coffee, he realized the household drip-brew pots didn’t do justice to the pricey coffee.
He spent the next 2 years piecing together microwave and Pizzaz parts, eventually building the prototype for what would become Savanna’s patented brewing machine.
Savanna Santiago spent her formative years as a banana farmer’s daughter in Bogota, Columbia. Among her earliest memories is smelling the aroma of her mother’s freshly-roasted coffee. Upon moving to New Orleans in the 90s, Savanna saw a need for freshly-brewed Columbian coffee and knew her father could supplement his banana fields with a secondary crop.
To this day, the 100% all-natural coffee at Savanna’s is directly imported from her family farm in Bogota, ground fresh daily, and sold in boutique coffee shops across the United States.
